About Us

Our farms are located in the highlands of western Honduras, and our main office is located in the small town of Santa Rosa de Copan, near the famous ancient Mayan ruins.
Our mission is to produce the best beans possible to serve a highly demanding market. Besides being a family business, we are also a minority owned business, as women own more than 50% of the company.
About Our Coffee
Green coffee beans are hand-picked, selected, and processed in Honduras, and then are carefully roasted to obtain an optimum body and pleasant aroma. Our business is based on quality and is our family pride.

Our coffee is shade grown in the highest mountains of western Honduras. Our farm, "Las Granadinas," is located at an altitude of more than 4,000 feet, which is ideal for growing premium coffee. The shade provided by these mountains helps to lower temperature and sunlight levels, which help the coffee beans reach maturity at the highest quality.
Providing single origin coffee is very important to us. Cafe Copan and Cafe San Marcos always come from the same farms, ensuring the highest standards of taste and aromas. This distinguishes us from country origin brands that gather beans from several locations to make their blends. Single origin coffee provides purity of body and flavor, further enhancing Honduran coffee's natural attributes of delicate smooth aroma and rich body.
Our shade grown coffee is also environmentally friendly, as the coffee is grown under the shade of the trees in high mountains. Growing coffee under natural shade insures that these forests will be protected and continue to provide home to many the many migratory birds that are seen on our farms throughout the year.
Social and Environmental Commitment
As issues such as sustainability and fair trade gain in importance, the benefits received by coffee farmers are under increasing scrutiny by coffee buyers and consumers. Since founding our business 25 years ago, we have not used any middlemen in the commercialization of our coffee. This insures that the monetary benefits go directly to the farmers and the hard working people who are involved in the coffee production. Our coffee comes directly from our farms in Honduras to our plant in Houston.
We strongly believe in giving back to the community. Our company sponsors local schools, providing construction materials for remodeling and maintenance. We also support our farmers' children academically by providing them with needed school supplies and supporting free breakfast programs in schools.
Additionally, we donate medical supplies to the community, provide free dental care to our pickers' children, and support the visits of non-profit health and development organizations that travel to our part of Honduras every year. By supporting our family business, you are helping hundreds of families to achieve a better quality of life and income.
We are always gratified to learn that our customers share our social and environmental values, and we like sharing their ideas with you. Customer Mary Flaum repurposes our signature burlap packaging as stylish handbags (see photo). Great idea, Mary!
